Volleyball Team To Participate In Carmtel International Championship

Nigeria’s national beach volleyball teams will participate in the 2nd edition of the Carmtel International Championships slated for Cameroon later this month.
The head coach of the Beach Volleyball teams, Francis Imougu stated this after their training session in Kaduna.
The Borno state based coach said the teams were selected based on their outing at the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Abuja.
He expressed optimism that the teams will have a good outing in Yaoundé.
Imougu said, “The players have been in one week camping exercise in Kaduna and the players are mentally and physically fit for the international championships. President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has been the brain box behind the success of beach volleyball in Nigeria and we promise not to let him down”.
“During the inaugural championship, the Nigeria women’s team won gold medal while the men’s team settle for silver. This time around, we are prepared to bring home both gold medals”, he added.
The team comprises of two male (Godwin Shekaru and Andrew Sunday) as well as two female (Tochukwu Nnourge and Francisca Ikhiede).
The Carmtel International Beach Volleyball Championships is scheduled for 27th to 30th December, 2018 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
