Double Victories For Nigeria As Junior Male and Cadet Female Teams Win Big in IHF competitions.

Nigeria got double victories on Thursday as the national under 20 male team and under 18 female team defeated their opponents in their competitions.

The male junior team coached by Shittu Adewunmi emphatically defeated Chile 34-26 to finish 19th out of the 24 teams that participated in the IHF Junior World Cup in Spain.

Owolabi Adio Ibrahim was voted and awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the match.

Nigeria had previously played 6 games, losing 5 and winning one before playing their last classification match against Chile.

Meanwhile, the national under 18 female team got a well deserved victory, defeating Cameroon 35-22 at the IHF International Challenge Trophy (Continental Phase)

The Cadet girls who had to dig deep to get a slim 32-31 win over host, Guinea, were very comfortable and put the Cameroonian ladies to sword.

Nigeria will next play Zambia and Uganda as the competition is on round robin basis.
