The year 2020 is here again and with it comes the usual anxieties and expectations.
As usual, the predictions have started rolling in and today, we have taken time to compile our top 20 predictions ahead of a busy calendar year in the exciting world of sports.

1 FOOTBALL
Lobi stars football club of Markurdi will win the 2019/2020 Nigeria professional football league season while two teams from the north will play in the final of the 2020 AITEO Cup competition.
2 The crisis in Nigeria football will take a whole new dimension in June as president Mohammadu Buhari through his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo will step in towards the end of June, to take three decisive actions that will finally restore peace to Nigeria football.
3 The 3-year old marriage between Super Eagles chief coach Gernot Rohr and his employers will finally come to an end in February as the football house decides to look elsewhere by terminating the appointment of the Franco/German
4 Another major disaster was recorded in Nigeria football as the Falconets got knocked out in the first round of the qualifiers to the Under 20 world Cup
5 The Nigeria football federation will appoint three new coaches to take charge of the various National teams.

6 ATHLETICS.
Suspended AFN president Ibrahim Gusau will be on the run as anti graft agencies come calling. He will eventually quit when the pressure becomes unbearable.
7) Congress will call for fresh elections in the AFN and a new president will emerge from the South West
8) There will be another major crisis in Basketball. This time it will be internal but the sports ministry will intervene and quickly call everyone to order.
9) Olympics.
Team Nigeria will win two Silver from Wrestling and two bronze medals from athletics and Taekwondo at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games .
10) At the games, president of the Gymnastics federation will resign after players and officials rain insults on him for poor management and lack of commitment to the sport.
11) Ministry.
Nigeria sports minister Sunday Dare will win the overwhelming confidence and support of the various sport federations as funds will be readily available for their various activities following the approval and release of the 2020 budget
12) Football.
A plot by some key members to impeach Amaju Pinnick will be uncovered, leading to division among members. This fresh crisis will lead to the resignation of a top official of the football house in April 2020.
13) Salisu Yusuf will return to the mainstream of Nigeria football, taking over from Gernot Rohr in March before leading Nigeria to win 4 out of 5 games in 2020
14) The much talked about stakeholders forum planned by the Nigeria sports minister will take place in the 2nd week of January and the report from this meeting will pave the way for negotiations and reconciliation among warring factions in Nigeria football.
15) Two teams in the north will sack their coaches. The first to go is Nasarawa united chief coach. The management board of the club will also be dissolved
16) There will be a major shocker in the NPFL as a big team from the Niger Delta will be relegated.
17) Coach Manu Garba will be appointed chief coach of Nasarawa united football club of Lafia.
18) Former Super Eagles winger and former coach of Tanzania, Emmanuel Amunike will apply for the vacant post of the Super Eagles but he will not be considered for the plum job.
19) Emmanuel Amunike will return to East Africa as chief coach of Uganda.
20) Three Nigerian players will move to the EPL. One in January and two more in the Summer transfer window. Victor Osimhen will come in as replacement for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who will join Real Madrid in the Summer.
