Nigeria To Host 2019 Cycling African Cup of Nations

The African cycling governing body, African Cycling Confederation (CAC) has given Nigeria the hosting right for 2019 African Cup edition for the track, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This is contained in a statement by the African Cycling Federation to National Cycling Federation of Nigeria signed by its president, Dr. Muhammed Wagih Azzam.

According to the statement, Muhammed Wagih congratulated National Cycling Federation of Nigeria for winning the hosting rights despite interest from other African countries.

The statement reads in parts;
"We received your letter which expressed the willingness of the National Cycling Federation of Nigeria to host the African Cup edition for Track in 2019 and I hereby have the pleasure to confirm to you and your esteemed Federation that the African Cycling Confederation welcome that Nigeria host and organize the African Cup edition for Track in 2019."

Though, the date for the track championship has not been decided as the African cycling governing body will review and communicate with the federation when the event will hold.
