Nigeria To Pay Rohr N457.2 million If He's Sacked As NFF Technical Meet Today By Niyi Busari Nigerian Government would have to cough out $1.2m about Four Hundred and fifty seven and two hundred thousand naira (N457.2m) to end the services of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr. This is according to the detail of the renewed contract signed by both parties. Sportinglife scooped that Nigeria Government is putting finishing touches to sacking of Rohr following unimpressive results of the last two AFCON Qualifier matches. The Super Eagles have not also won any match since January 2020. The Technical Committee of the NFF would meet with Coach Gernot Rorh on Friday to analyse Super Eagles matches in 2020 particularly deliberation on the report of the double header games against Sierra Leone. The Leone Stars dramatically came from a 0-4 goal down to stage a wonderful comeback to earn a 4-4 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State. The three-time African champions were unable to defeat Sierra Leone in Freetown as the second leg ended 0-0 on 17th November, 2020. Despite the two draws and Eagles inability to win a match in 2020, the former African champion is still topping the group L table with 8 points from four matches and closely followed in the second position by Burkina Faso with seven points - a point less than the Eagles. In Rohr's contract, he still in line with the condition of qualifying and winning the AFCON as he needs just one point from two games to pick the 2021 African Nations Cup ticket. Nigeria will play guest to Burkina Faso in March, 2021 and host Lesotho in the match-day 6 of the qualifiers.
