Nigeria Volleyball Federation to Send delegation to Shell MD Invitational Tournament By Admin The Nigeria Volleyball Federation on Monday promised to offer technical support to the organizers of Shell MD Volleyball Invitational tourney. The tournament in its 6th year, sponsored by the Shell MD, is scheduled for 16th to 18th, November, 2018 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. According to the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod said there is need for federation to harmonize the Shell MD Volleyball Invitational tourney into the nation’s volleyball calendar. He disclosed that Nigeria local and international players are looking forward to get invited for the highly ranked event. Nimrod said, “It is high time we harmonize our programs and have a comprehensive calendar for volleyball activities in Nigeria. With the understanding from the organizers of Shell MD competition, we can now solidify that process in our 2019 calendar". He said the federation is highly impressed with the sustainable drive of the organizers of Shell MD Volleyball Invitational tourney. He further said, “Many Nigerian players are looking forward to play in the tourney and many clubs as well are requesting to be invited. This is due to the way the previous tourney was organized and executed. It is a testimony of great experience coming from both players and officials that participated”. He hailed the organizers for extending an invitation to provide technical recommendations for future collaboration and understanding. The NVBF boss said, “The federation wants to identify with all tournaments, be it grassroots, regional or States wide competition as a way of inspiring development in the game. Another cardinal importance of sending such a delegation is to use the competition as a medium to scout for players to be invited to national camp in the nearest future".
