Nigeria Vs Brazil Draw, A Morale Booster For Eagles Ahead Benin Republic Match - Patrick Pascal

Super Eagles coordinator, Patrick Pascal has said that the 1-1 draw against five-time world champions, Brazil is a needed booster for the confidence of the players ahead of their 2021 African Nations Cup qualifier against Benin Republic, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The former Super Eagles defender told www.bsnsports.com.ng on Tuesday that the friendly match against the Selecao will not only serve as morale booster for the two oncoming matches but will also help Nigeria climb up the ladder monthly FIFA Ranking

He argued that the grade A friendly match is a right step in a right direction to test the newly invited players and all players ability and confidence level.

"Super Eagles played very well against Brazil in the grade A friendly match, the match is to test how the players can fare against a team like Brazil as well as helping Nigeria to climb up in the FIFA monthly Rankings.

"Such match with a good performance and result are good morale booster for the players and Nigerians ahead of the African Nations Cup Qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

"With the 1-1 draw against Brazil the players will have confidence when they face Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Pascal added that the confidence in the team does not mean that the Super Eagles will underrate Benin Republic saying that all arsenal will be rolled out to achieve the maximum three points.

"However, that does not suggest that Benin Republic are walk over but Super Eagles are the favorite in the match. In such match you dont underrate or take any chances. In such match Nigeria must use all its arsenal to make sure the maximum three points is in the bag." The former 3SC player concluded.
