Nigeria’s Super Eagles played out a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in their final group game in the 2022 World Cup qualifier, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Victor Osimhen opened the scoring for the Super Eagles, but Stopira levelled scores for Cape Verde to ensure a share of the spoils.
Here is the players rating on Super Eagles players below.
Maduka Okoye: He was slightly at fault for the equaliser as he could have done more. Otherwise, he was largely untroubled. 6/10
Chidozie Awaziem : The Boavista loanee played on the right side of a 3-5-2 formation and was at his battling best. His long throw-ins were a source of goal threats. 7/10
Jamilu Collins: Excelled in the wing-back position once again. He seems determined not to relinquish his starting role in the team. 6/10
Leon Balogun: Got booked for a rash challenge late on. Did well to keep the opposing strikers at bay. 6/10
William Troost-Ekong : Made some good tackles in the second half but he was wasteful with his passes in the first half thereby putting the team under pressure. Was guilty of poor marking on Cape Verde's equaliser 4.5/10
Wilfred Ndidi: Dictate the pace for the Super Eagles especially in the first half. One of Nigeria’s best performers on the night. 7/10
Joe Aribo: Had a well struck shot saved by the Cape Verde goalkeeper in the first half. Tired out and was replaced by Frank Onyeka in the 77th minute. 6/10
Alex Iwobi : The Everton winger kept things simple with his neat passes albeit he had a chance to pass the ball at a better positioned Kelechi Iheanacho in the second half which he didn't do. 6/10
Moses Simon: He helped out defensively, but was poor in the attack, particularly with his set-piece delivery. 4/10
Victor Osimhen : The Napoli star can do no wrong these days. He was the scorer for the Eagles and also had other chances. Osimhen won back the balls than he gave away. Was strong in the air and on the ground. 8/10
Odion Ighalo: The striker struggled to make much impact on his return to the Super Eagles. Fluffed two good scoring opportunities in the first half. 4.5/10
SUBSTITUTES
Shehu Abdullahi: Helped kept things tight at the back after replacing the injured Moses Simon in the second half. 4/10
Frank Onyeka: Took the place of Joe Aribo13 minutes from time. Good addition to the team from the bench but he had no ample time to make any telling contributio 5/10
Paul Onuachu: Not Rated!!!!
