Nigeria Vs Cote d'Ivoire: Falcons Optimistic of Qualifying For Next Round

By Niyi Busari

African champions Super Falcons of Nigeria will today slug it out in the 2020 Olympic qualifier second leg match with their Ivorian counterparts at the Agege Stadium, Lagos at 4:00 pm, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The Ivorian senior women national team proved difficult for the nine-time African champions as the first leg in Cote d'Ivoire ended in a barren draw.

Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala was unable to unlock the defense of the Ivorians after she scored the lone goal at the Agege Stadium against Algeria in the Olympic qualifier before progressing to face Cote d'Ivoire.

All eyes will be on the newly appointed captain to salvage the Falcons once again as a win will be enough to see them through to Tokyo.

Super Falcons were unable to pick the ticket to the Rio Olympic in 2016 but hopeful that they will clinch the 2020 Olympic ticket at the expense of the Ivorians.

If the women's senior national team of Nigeria sail through to the next round by refreshing Cote d'Ivoire, Falcons will face Cameroon in the next round of the 2020 Olympic qualifier.
