Nigeria Vs Egypt: Ekong To Captain Eagles, As Moses Replaces Musa

Super Eagles’ stand in Captain Ahmed Musa has been excused by Eagles Manager Gernot Rohr to return to his Saudi Arabia club Al- Nassr to help the team beat league leaders Al-Hilal in a top of the table cracker in the Saudi Arabia Professional League match fixed for this Friday.
Musa who was relied on to lead the Eagles to victory in an international friendly against the visiting Pharaohs of Egypt in Asaba, Delta State had to leave Asaba Sunday evening in order to get to Saudi Arabia on time for the league cracker between leaders Al-Hilal and Musa’s Al-Nassr club that is currently placed second on the league table.
“Musa is leaving the Eagles camp today (Sunday) to arrive Saudi Arabia on time for his club game on Friday against the Leaders Al-Nassr”, Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr disclosed to www.adantesports.com.ng on Sunday.
The Franco-German Coach also confirmed that Udinese defender William Troost Ekong will Captain the team in Musa’s absence while Moses Simon will replace Musa in the starting line-up. “Ekong will Captain the Super Eagles since Musa is going back to his club. Simon Moses will start against Egypt on Tuesday in Musa’s absence”, Rohr disclosed.
Musa’s club Al-Nassr is second on the Saudi Arabia Professional League table with 55 points from 24 matches played so far while Al-Hilal is the league leaders with 57 points won from same matches played.
