Tajudeen Abass made this known in a chat, "Our team need to do more against Iceland with what we saw Croatia did to Argentina means our team losing to them does not mean we never played well we were just unlucky to do well against Croatia but we just need to put that behind us as a team and win today game against Iceland."
"With what we now have the game against Argentina will be a very though game for us because the Argentine will be on us to redeem their image, so that will be one big challenge to Nigeria in the group."
In the same vein, Hon. Ayo Omidiran has asked for the support from the Nigerian fans back home, we are bad losers but I know the players are disappointed with the first game result but we know we are champions in our own making but the results against Croatia was not a good one but I want the fans back home to keep supporting the team and I know today's game will bring a renewed hope for the fans at home."
Vice Chairman of the house committee on Sports Hon. Nuhu Danburam challenged the team never to give up hope of making it out of the group in his words 'football is a game of 90 minutes and you don't give up until the time is up so I want to encourage the team to give their best for the team and make Nigeria proud, the fans back home should not be disappointed and I want them to keep supporting the team for us to keep supporting the team in Russia and that is only thing that can give us results
