Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo hopes to score in today's 2019 African Nations Cup Third-placed encounter against Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Ighalo, who plays for Chinese Premier league club, Shangai Shenhua lead the scorer’s chart with four goals .

The former Watford striker scored the winning goal in Nigeria’s first Group B game against the Swallows of Burundi and added three more goals in the win against Cameroon and in the defeat to Algeria.

Teranga Lions of Senegal forward Saido Mane, Algeria’s Adams Ounas and Cederic Bakambu of Democratic Republic of Congo have scored three goals each.

With Democratic Republic of Congo already out of the competition, only Mane and Ounas whose side will play in the final on Friday have the chance of challenging Ighalo for the prize.

The Carthage Eagles – Super Eagles clash on Wednesday will hold at the Al Salam Stadium on Wednesday. Kick-off is 8pm Nigerian time.
