Born to a Nigerian father by a Romania mother in Germany, Karim Adeyemi was eligible to represent three countries but opted for the German national team. Like Adeyemi, Noah Okafor presently playing for the Swiss national team is born to a Nigerian father in Binningen, Switzerland. Lucas Nmecha is a German U21 footballer who is still eligible to represent Nigeria having played for England and Germany at the youth level.
