Chelsea have announced that Nigerian midfielder Tariq Uwakwe has committed his future to the club.

Uwakwe, alongside two others - Juan Castillo and George McEachran - have all signed new three-year contracts at the club ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

Uwakwe, who has played for England Under-19, will enter his 12th season at the club after agreeing a new deal. Injuries restricted his involvement throughout last term, though he still played a key role in our UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 campaigns.

The London born has yet to make his professional debut for the Blues, but he is widely regarded as one of the top prospects at Chelsea and was invited to train with the first team ahead of a Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in February.
