Nigerian Journalists Are Corrupt, Lack Expertise, Not Serious…. Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has taken a swipe on Nigerian journalists in an interview he granted and published in a German newspaper 'Welt' before the FIFA World Cup in France.

In the interview, he said Nigerian journalists collect 'GIFTS' from agents to write favourable articles about their clients so that they get invited to the national team.

He stated further that Nigerian journalists lack expertise unlike their foreign counterparts and need to learn how to carry out their jobs in a professional manner.

According to the statement published by WELT newspaper available to www.BSNSports.com.ng, he said:
"There is often a lack of expertise. In addition, players and their advisors like to give gift (bribe) to Nigerian journalists to put pressure on the coaching team. Nigeria has a lot of different media but unfortunately, most of them are not serious."
