Nigerian Player Samuel Chukuweze Nominated For Kopa Trophee Award

Nigeria and Villarreal winger Samuel Chukuweze has been named among the nominees for the 2019 Kopa Trophee Award. Bsnsports.com.ng reports
The Kopa trophee was created last year and was named after the former French footballer, Raymond Kopa and the award was designed for the best U-21 footballer in the world.
Samuel Chukuweze has been known for hos quick feet the ball as well as his ability to take on defenders; he has scored two goals in eight league appearances for Villarreal this season and he is the first Nigerian to be nominated for the award.
The 20-year-old is nominated alongside the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, Jason Sancho of Borrussia Dortmund, Everton young forward Moise Lean, Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi and Vicinus Jr of Real Madrid.
Juventus defender, Matthijs de Ligt, Bayern Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz, Andrei Lounine of Real Valladolid and
Valencia’s Kang-in Lee also in contention for the award.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe won the award last year.
The winner of the Kopa Trophee will be announced at a ceremony which will take place on December 2.
