It was a sweet weekend for Nigeria players abroad as they put up distinctive display for their various clubs.
In England Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi started from the bench for Arsenal on Saturday as Gunners returned to a winning ways against Burnley at the Emirate. He was introduced in the 79th minutes for France forward Alexander Lacazette and justified his introduction with a goal in the 90th minutes of the encounter. Arsenal went on to win Burnley 3-1.
At the Vitality stadium, it was a day to forget for defender Leon Balogun who played the whole durations of the game as Bournemouth defeated Brighton 2-0 in front of their home fans.
Wilfred Ndidi played a vital role at Stamford Bridge as Leicester City inflicted chelsea first home defeat. Forward Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced for goalscorer Jamie Vardy in the 84th minutes.
Striker Isaac Success was introduced in the 86th minutes for Watford skipper Troy Denney as Watford beats West Ham United 2-0 at home.
In the championship, defender Semi Ajayi played all 90 minutes as West Brom thrashed Rotherham 4-1.
In Italy, Chelsea loanee Ola Aina played whole 90 minutes as Torino played out a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo at Mapei stadium.
William Troost Ekong was at the heart of the defence as Udinese played a 1-1 against Frosinone at home. The draw placed Udinese one point away from relegation zone.
Midfielder Joel Obi was unused substitute in Chievo 1-1 against Inter Milan. Chievo have 5 points from 17 games and are placed 20th at the rock bottom of the league table.
Orji Okonkwo was an unused substitute as his team Bologna played a goalless draw against Parma.
Fast forward to Belgium, Uche Agbo was an unused substitute in Standard Liege 3-1 home win over Oostende.
Turkey
Anthony Nwakaeme was on target as Trabzonspor defeated Rizespor 4-1 with former youth international Aminu Umar scoring a consolatory goal for Trabzonspor. Anthony Nwakaeme scorwd a brace in the encounter.
Shehu Abdulahi yet to return for Bursaspor as he was no where near Bursaspor team that played a 1-1 with Malayatapor.
Emem Eduok saw action
after being introduced in the 63rd minute in Kasimpasa 4-1 humiliation of Besiktas. The win assisted Kasimpasa to be have same point (29) with Trabzonspor and Yeni Malatyaspor in second and third poaitions respectively.
France
Winger Samuel Kalu was on target for Bordeaux on their 1-1 draw with Amiens.
In Scotland, Rangers manager, Stephen Gerrard snubbed Umar Sodiq in his club 2-1 away win over St. Johnstone.
In Spain, Omeruo helped his team, Leganese to play 1-1 draw against Sevilla. Leganese are on 16th position tied on the same point with Real Sociedad and 3 points away from relegation.
