Owolabi Caleb queried the rationale behind the invitation, "What is Ighalo doing in this squad? Why is back in the team? We have many young and talented Nigeria in the diaspora waiting for call up, Taiwo Awoniyi is doing very fine in Union Berlin, Oliseh in Crystal Palace hasn't commit his national call UP with Either England or France, who is trying to convince him to play for Eagles? What is Musa still doing in this squad? Rohr isn't in control of player call up definitely and I am certain isn't in control of player selection." "Oga rohr this nonsense selection. Why are you calling ighalo back." Tia Go asked rhetorically. Chuks Ossai "Okocha, Rufai and Segun Odegbami are conspicuously missing from the list. We need to bring our best legs back." "Rohr isn't in control of player call up definitely and I am certain isn't in control of player selection," says Owolabi Caleb Adesola "So you left taiwo awoniyi for ighalo ?? Just wrong very wrong," says Obiora Michaeldinho. "I think Egypt and Morocco should just represent Africa in this world cup, Cause with what am seeing so, I've given up on the super eagles," Omoregie Grace expressed shock at the Ighalo inclusion. "I think we need to call Yakubu back to the team as well" Kollenze Chukwuemeka joked. "Is a shame that you brought back ighalo you can also bring back obafemi martins mtchewwww," Hart Ezekiel. Jean Tigana also contributed, saying, "Akinkunmi Amoo is in hot form, in a league above Shehu Cyprus, Amoo a creative midfielder we lack in the team, I think we need to do end Sars on top of Pinnick and Rohr head." The former Manchester United striker, Ighalo won the Highest Goal Scorer award with five goals at the last African Nations Cup held in Morocco. Nigeria finished third beating Tunisia in the Third place match after the Semifinal loss to Algeria, the eventual champions.
