Nigerians Lambast NFF Over Rohr Salary, Dennerby Resignation

Nigeria Football Federation on Friday took to its Twitter handle to unravel how and why Falcons' coach Thomas Dennerby dumped Nigeria and also denied owing Super Eagles coach three month salary. Though, the federation admitted owing the Eagles coach one month salary which did not go down well with Nigerians.

Recently, Nigeria national teams have not been doing well and that made the citizens angry and questioned the federation on how things are being run at the glass house.

Football loving Nigerians showed their grievance when responding to the Nigeria Football Federation's explanation on former Super Falcons' coach Thomas Dennerby resignation and its inability to pay Super Eagles coach September salary on their official twitter handle.

No doubt, football is the best Nigeria sport and the only unifying factor in a country like Nigeria where we have many tribes and where citizens practice three different religions.

However, Nigerians are not happy as the game that always bring smiles on the faces of the citizens, suddenly started bringing sorrow, headache and heartache into their lives.

Following the ouster of the Nigeria senior women national team Super Falcons out of the 2020 Olympics qualification, few weeks after the resignation of the Swede tactician Thomas Dennerby.

Questions were raised by Nigerians and the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare promised to investigate what went wrong.

Nigerians raised eyebrows to the fact that the NFF admitted on their official twitter handle that the federation is owing Super Eagles coach his September salary. They admitted owing the caoch after a renowned journalist Osasu Obayiuwana revealed that the federation is owing the Super Eagles coach three months salary.

Nigerians are not also happy about the failure of the League Management Company, LMC, inability to commence the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League since the end of last season in May, 2019.

LMC had promised three seasons ago that they wanted Nigerian leagues to be in line with the European season calendar hence, declared Lobi Stars as league champions at matchday 24 in the 2017/18 season.

Last season (2018/19) was played on abridge as 24 NPFL teams were divided into two groups. According to LMC, the decisions were taking to meet up with European football league which always commence in August.

LMC had told Nigerians that the 2019/20 NPFL league will kick off on September 22 but till this moment the league is yet to start.

The non-commencement of the league has affected Nigeria clubs in the continents. Only two clubs (Enyimba International and Rangers International) are in the CAF Confederation Cup while Aiteo Cup finalists (Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes) have been knocked out in their respective CAF Club competitions.

The home based Super Eagles had on two different occasions failed to beat Togo in the Championship of African Nations, CHAN, as well West African Football Union, WAFU Cup.
