NNL: 3SC Target Victory As warriors, Giants Clash In Enugu
By Admin
Fresh from a great start to the season, Ibadan soccer lords, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), aim at another victory this afternoon as they trade tackles with Giant Brillars of Enugu.
The Group B1 Match Day Two encounter of the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2021 season, holds at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, otherwise called, the Cathedral.
When both sides slugged it out at the same venue, two years ago, the Oluyole Warriors erged the host 2-1, a feat the former Nigerian and African champions, aim at repeating this Saturday.
Forward, Gafar Olafimihan, whose hattrick condemned Rovers FC of Calabar to 3-0 defeat on match day one, spoke the mind of the Stars, saying they were in Enugu for nothing but the maximum points.
"Our ultimate goal this weekend, is to continue with the way we started the campaign, our target is victory and we are fully ready to accomplish that", said the 3SC striker.
Although the coach Edith Agoye tutored lads are beaming with confidence, going into the match, they are also aware of the opposition the Enugu based side can pose.
Giant Brillars were able to hold Stationery Stores to a 1-1 draw on the road last weekend, a result that could be described as a morale boaster, hence, Shooting Stars are not going to let down their guards, according to Olafimihan.
Having lost to the Oluyole Warriors on the two occasions they have met, Brillars would definitely go all out to avoid another defeat but it remains to be seen how the coach Abdul Suleiman Afeez tutored lads can hold the victory thirsty Shooting Stars.
The match is slated to kick off by 4pm.
