NNL: Bendel Insurance Pull Clear Off Rivals
By Admin
Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin on Wednesday defeated Apex Krane FC of Agbor 1-0 to extend their lead in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Group B2, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Benin Arsenal left it late to claim the needed three maximum points of the game and it was the Captain, Maurice Prince who did the job for his side when he broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute of the game, tapping in a loose ball during a goal mouth scramble with the goalkeeper from Apex Krane Dibowei Amabeithri left helpless.
Goalkeeper Dibowei Amabeithri was near excellent in his area as he made several saves to frustrate Insurance scoring opportunities with his safe gloves in the first half when Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi, Elijah Simon and Zaidu Ayuba terrorised his area with close range shots.
Insurance have advanced to 37 points ontop of Group B2 table with the lone goal victory over the Kranes after playing 20 games and have another home game on Saturday against Ibom Youth FC.
The Benin Arsenal have won three games at a stretch since their return to league action.
