By Niyi Busari
There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel as all the eight teams that qualified to play the Super 8 playoff are either in Aba or on their way to the venue of the playoff.
www.BSNSports.com.ng can reveal that all the teams are set for the playoff which at the end of the tournament will produce four clubs that join the existing twenty clubs in the 2018/19 NPFL clubs.
According to a reliable source, the power that be in Nigeria football circle influenced, founder of Bet9ja and Remo Stars Proprietor, Kunle Soname who in turn compiled and directed his team, Remo Stars to start preparing for the Super 8. Hearing this, other teams felt disappointed, and after persuasion, they also complied and plan their journey to Abia state.
As it is, January 5 kick off date may be shifted as Kada FC, Kogi United, 3sc, Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars left for Abia on Friday evening and may arrive the venue on kick off date.
Due to a long journey and bad condition of Nigerian roads, it will be ill-advised to ask the players to start playing the matches same day.
An official of Kogi United who spoke with BSN Sports lamented: "Yes, we are on our way but the kick off date must be re-adjusted because we will get to the venue tomorrow (Jan. 5) and we cannot play after about 15 hours on the road. So, the organizers must look into this and do the needful" He said.
