The Abuja based Nigeria National League side, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Football Club defeated Rarara FC 2-0 in the 2019/20 NNL match-day 4 tie at the Area 3 Sports Complex, Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

EFCC FC who narrowly lost 0-1 to Niger Tornadoes last weekend in Minna secured their first win of the season in a difficult game as Rarara FC proved to be a hard nut to crack.

Rarara FC came to Abuja with a game plan to secure at least a draw, the Katsina state based team were calm from the beginning of the game, thwarted all the attacking plans of the homers in the early minutes of the encounter.

Efrem Musa's header left the visiting goalkeeper with no option than to allow the ball into the back of the net in the 42nd minute following a pass from the right flank with three minute to the end of the first half.

On resuming the second half, the Mahmud Shareef-led team made two changes to fortify their attack but their contribution could not change the scoreline as Aminu Abubakar's low shot sealed the win for the hosts.

Rarara FC who drew 0-0 with Mighty Jet also drew 3-3 with Sokoto United in their second match, pipped Yobe Dessert Stars 1-0 but lost 0-2 to EFCC FC.

Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng after the match, Rarara FC coach, Mahmud Shareef blamed the defeat on fatigue saying the team arrived Abuja 11:00 pm a day before the kick off date adding that the players did not rest well before the match was played.

"When we were coming from Katsina state our bus had to stop two times because it developed faults. Due to that, we arrived Abuja too late in the night around 11 pm and gained entrance into hotel in the midnight. The fatigue affected my players and our game, i think this is why we lost.

"EFCC FC is a good team, we lost to a better side but we need to defeat Niger Tornadoes in our next match." He concluded.
