BSN Sports gathered that FC Taraba who will be playing their first game this weekend at home to Kaduna United at the Jolly Nyame stadium Jalingo may not hold as aggrieved ex-players of the club have vowed to stop the game from holding unless their backlogs of salaries and allowances are paid. Former FC Taraba captain, Nehemiah Elijah who spoke with BSN Sports on phone said: "FC Taraba want to play their first league game at home against Kaduna United and they think it is possible without paying our salaries and allowances they are owing us? They are joking, we won't allow that match to hold, we will disrupt the game and face the consequence unless we are paid! The angry ex captain lamented. "For months now, they promised to pay us three months out of the salaries they are owing us but up till now, nothing has happened. We know they will arrest us with police but we are not scared because we are not criminals." He added. Reacting to this through phone call, the Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, Mr Lawrence Katken who described it as unfortunate situation, stated that he is not aware of the players protest and plan to disrupt the game, adding that the Arbitration department of the NFF is in best position to handle the situation and not the NNL secretariat as their primary duty is to organise and ensure smooth running of the league. "I am hearing this from you now, we are not aware of this but if it is true that they want to disrupt the game, then that is unfortunate situation because we don't have the power to do anything about it but the NFF Arbitration department have the legal right to intervene and solve the situation."
