NNL: Gombe Utd, El-Kanemi Warriors, Niger Tornadoes Qualify For Super 8 By Omolagba Oluwayemi Gombe Utd, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Niger Tornadoes have qualified for the NNL Super 8, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Gombe Utd who finished top of the Northern Conference group A1 defeated Rarara FC 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Sama'ila Bello 70', 90' and one from Sani Suleiman 87'. El Kanemi who were drawn bye finished second behind Gombe Utd in group A1. Relegated from the group are FC Taraba, Oyah Sports and Aklosendi who withdrew halfway into the season. It was all joy for Niger Tornadoes in group A2 of the Northern Conference as they also secured their qualification to the Super 8. The former Aiteo Cup champions is sured to finish top of the group even if they lose their last match. Aside G&K Shekarau who have surely relegated from the group, Kogi Utd and Zamfara Utd having played a game less stand a chance of escaping the drop. In the reschedule fixtures played Bendel Insurance defeated Ibom Youths my a lone while Gateway United pipped FC One Rocket by a lone goal. With some groups yet to complete their games, matches will be played across different concerned venues on Sunday.
