For more than two years, FC Taraba have always made headlines for wrong or negative reasons. BSN Sports can authoritatively report that the the management of Dream Palace hotel, Katsina Alla Benue state, held the players, officials and bus of FC Taraba following their inability to clear the hotel bills after the team had spent seven days in the hotel.
A reliable source in the team revealed to www.bsnsports.com.ng that the hotel manager asked the gateman to lock the gate when the Taraba state owned club could only pay One hundred and fifty thousand (#150,000) out of Two hundred and sixty two thousand (#262,000) naira they have accumulated for their expenses for seven days.
According to the impeccable source, the team management called the attention of the state sports commissioner who in turn called the governor, Mr Darius Dickson Ishaku. The governor could not attend to their request since Friday evening until last night Saturday 9th June 2018.
As at the time of this report, the total amount owed have been cleared and FC Taraba bus, officials and players have been left off the hook on Sunday 10th June 2018.
Recalled that the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers, NANPF has written to the management of the Nigerian National League not to register FC Taraba for this season until they settle their ex-players who were all dismissed without payment of their three years salaries and allowances outstanding.
Recently, the aggrieved players disallowed them to use their home ground for their matches which forced them to use Katsina Alla stadium in Benue state as their home ground. FC Taraba are now swimming in the relegation waters, following their poor performances recorded in the first stanza of the league.
