NNL: Ikorodu United Hold Crown At Home

NNL:
BET9JA NNL SOUTHERN CONFERENCE By Admin It was goalless draw at the end of the entertaining ninety minutes at the Soun Towship Stadium in Ogbomoso after a brilliant and very tactical display from both sides. It was an entertaining start by the Ajilete Warriors gaining better ball possession which saw them dominate the game. But a glaring missed chance by Daniel Barnabas in the 15th minutes via a shot by Yahya Ahmed put an end to their dominance. Tobi Adeyi, the former Crown FC Feeders player was at his best in today game as his good marking ability and accurate passing stabilized the midfield and pose a lot of threat to the Oga Boys. Daniel Barnabas's skills and strength upfront were fruitless as he had nothing to show for it. The Theo De Hong's led Oga boys were too hostile, lack coordination and were too hard on the homers. In an attempt to call the attention of the center referee to caution the Ikorodu Utd boys,Obinna Christopher was yellow carded 30 minutes into the game. Sodiq Rilwan, spotting jersey number 7 for the visitors was just too good in delaying the game as he fell most times intentionally without being touched .The center referee,Akinwumi Idowu, never penalized him for the unruly behavior. The 43rd minute caution given to Adenodi Michael never changed the too rough playing pattern of the Oga Boys. The first half ended with both teams being unable to find the net. Crown FC started the second half fastly with the Oga Boys combining more attacks from the right flank. The thunderous shot by Taiwo Muazu in the 55th minutes went slightly above the crossbar. The Ajilete Warriors mounted more pressure on the visitors defence but Mashood Kabiru was there to stop the homers from recking any havoc. Samuel Stone, former Crown FC striker was booked for rough tackling Ugo Anozie in the 53rd minute. In the 61st minute, Ugo Anozie was equally booked for retaliating a hard tackle on him by Sadiq Rilwan. Silas Rowland of Ikorodu Utd came in for Adenodi Michael in the 68th minutes while Bode Daniel of Crown FC replaced Daniel Barnabas in the 70th minute. Ademola Ayoola, the former Ikorodu Utd player was substituted for Olanrewaju Oladimeji in the 85th minute while Adeyemi Adeyeye replaced Yahya Ahmed. Akinola Abiodun who had a knock on the cheek in the 91st minute was attended to by the medics and returned to the field of play. At the 93rd minute the centre referee called the game off.
