NNL: Lack of League Sponsors, Financial Fair Play For Private Clubs Worries Investor

President, Oyah Sports Football Club, Osman Shilah has said that lack of sponsors of the Nigeria National League and financial fair play for the private clubs by the league management have been major setback facing the league, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Shilah also raised eyebrow on the issue of the officiating and urged the management to look into it as some calls by the officials are wrong. He stressed that the league body should do something fast to nip it in the bud before it ruins the good work they have done.

In his words, "The management of the league (NNL) should try and get sponsors, it is an eyesore that NNL do not have sponsors this season. Also, some of us who run private clubs are facing financial difficulties running the club unlike our counterparts who get weekly budget for matches. If there sponsors, the management would have helped giving out funds to participating teams which will help us to a large extent."

"The league management also need to check the officiating because some referees made some costly mistakes. Thought, they are human and are liable to committing errors but some of their calls need to be checked."

Oyah Sports on Tuesday unveiled their new Technical Adviser, Mika Lumijarvi who resume duty same day but was put to test when his team, Oyah Sports trade tackles with Niger Tornadoes at the Area 3 Sports Complex, Abuja on Wednesday.

Oyah Sports fell 1-3 to their NNL counterparts, Niger Tornadoes in a warm up game in front of their home fans.

Speaking after the match, Luminjarvi said he was satisfied with the performance of his lads adding that the friendly game enabled him know th department in the team that required urgent attention and adjustment.

He promised the fans that to return the team to winning ways urging them not to judge the performance of his wards with friendly games.
