NNL: Niger Tornadoes A Win Away From Play-Off, As Gombe Utd Edges Closer By Omolagba Oluwayemi Niger Tornadoes and Gombe United are just a win away from securing an NPFL Play-off spot after their 10th and 9th win over the weekend, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The 2020/21 season of the Nigeria National League has been marred with turbulence occurrences but that has not held down the league as it's gradually approaching it's end. With a 2-0 victory against DMD over the weekend, Niger Tornadoes could secure their place in the Play-offs as early as next match should they win their game. The Niger State based team have recorded 10 wins this season, the highest of all the clubs in their group. Gombe United on their own will need at least a win and a draw to seal their play-off spot. The weekend win 3-1 win over rivals Mighty Jets further strengthened their grip on top of the log. In other games played over this weekend, EFCC FC held Rarara FC to a 1-1 draw as ABS and Kogi Utd pipped Malumfashi FC and Kebbi Utd by a lone goal. FC Nilayo defeated Go-Round FC by a lone goal to close the gap between them to just three points with the former still in the lead. Ekiti Utd and Nnewi Utd as well recorded a one nil win over Osun Utd and Giant Brillars respectively.
