Okenwa Explains Why Bet9ja Pull Out As League Sponsor By Niyi Busari NIgeria National League Chairman, Mr. chidi Ofor Okenwa has stated that non relegation of teams from the Nigeria Professional football League was one of the main reasons NNL lost Bet9ja as title sponsor. Okenwa Ofor in an exclusive interview with www.bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja said that NNL management pleaded with the Betting company before they pulled out but believes it is a family issue that will be sorted out soon. The Betting company terminated its deal with the league last week and Okenwa has revealed the reason among all various issues about Nigeria football. "We received letter from Bet9ja, they said they are pulling out of the league because of breach of contract as no teams were relegated attract from the premier league. Okenwa told Basic Sports in Nigeria. "We cannot take Bet9ja out of Nigeria football, we believe we will convince them back. It is a family issues and it can still be sorted out. Though, we are also talking to some other organizations who are ready to offer sponsorship deals. The Enugu state FA Chairman agreed that the withdrawal of sponsor by Bet9ja will affect the running of the league this season. "Surely it will affect the league and we hope they will have a rethink one or the other and come back and when that happens we will be very grateful. "We are looking forward to having better relationship to whosoever is coming into the league and attract good sponsorships. "We should appreciates that last season it was only NNL that has title sponsorship of all the leagues and it worth celebrating. "It means we have to start fresh, it was a policy thing and is not from the end of NNL but the system." He concluded.
