NNL Postpones Annual General Meeting, 2019 League Draws By Niyi Busari The management of Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced the postponement of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the draws for the 2019 league season, BSNSports.com.ng can report. In a statement signed by the head of media, Amar Ignis, the Annual General Meeting as well as the draws is now shifted from 6th March to 20th March, 2019. According to the statement the reason was to allow other clubs complete their registrations for 2019 NNL League season. "The 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and draw to commence the new Football League season has been shifted by the management of Bet9ja Nigeria National League, NNL, following the inability of some clubs to register for the 2018-2019 season. "The Management has deferred the AGM and draw by sixteen days, to now hold on Wednesday 20th March, 2019 at the earlier announced venue and time." The statement reads. According to Mr. Lawrence Katken, League's Chief Operating Officer, "This makes it practically impossible to go ahead with the AGM/Draw fixed for Wednesday 6th of this month." "Since the official draw will be carried out, we do not want to work in assumption or speculation on the number of clubs that will participate in the new season" Clubs who are yet to register have therefore been mandated to do so, to enable the League move on and management to execute its proposed plans for the year. Mr.Katken further stated that any club that fail to register on or before Friday the 15th of March,2019 , will give the League body no option than to conduct the draw and work with the registered clubs. He ended with apology to everyone on the inconveniences the shelving of the AGM and Draw may have caused, noting it was done with deliberate intent for the good of the League.
