NNL Shifts Club Congress, Kick off Dates

The management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) has changed the dates of club stadia inspection, Congress and 2019 NNL kick off, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This is contained in a circular sent on Thursday, 14th February, to all clubs as well as all states Football Association in the NNL.

The shift according to the management is mandatory as Nigeria goes into general elections in the next two consecutive weekends.

"Due to the Presidential elections and the Governorship election in Nigeria, the League Management has decided to make a slight adjustment on the 2018/19 NNL Calendar, " the statement reads in parts.

However, Wednesday 20th February 2019 is scheduled for stadium inspection while Wednesday 6th March 2019 is billed for club Congress.

The 2019 NNL season is expected to kick off Wednesday 13th March 2019.

Though the number of participating teams is not made known to the public, however, NNL management is expected to announce the clubs that will participate in 2019 season before the kick-off date.

No teams were relegated to the NLO 1 last season but some are expected to join the existing ones.

Four teams were promoted to the 2019 NPFL after Super 8 was decided at the Enyimba International stadium.
