By Abubakar Hassan
The Chief Coach of Sokoto United FC, Garba Happy has appreciated the officiating officials that took charge of his team match day one encounter against Niger Tornadoes Fc, in the Nigeria National League (NNL), for a fair play, at the late Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
The Chief Coach who spoke to Sports Journalists after the match noted that there were some lapses in the officiating but said it was normal because the officials were humans and are bound to make mistakes as well.
"It was a good game. The Referee is almost 70 percent in the officiating, he is a human being and definitely some mistakes would come. But there is a good officiating," said the Coach.
Coach Happy also commended the fighting spirit of his boys, saying they gave a good account of themselves despite it was their first game of the league.
"We have prepared and we have played. I can say we have a team. In a game you either win or you loose but I can say the boys have given good account of themselves, they have shown that they can do more than this", Coach Happy explained.
He noted that there was deficiency in his team attacking force, promising that they will work on it before their next game against Rarara Fc at home.
A 42nd individual effort by Segun Alebiosu gave Niger Tornadoes the three maximum points in the encounter as both teams gave a good account of themselves with beautiful football artistry.
The Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium was filled to its capacity during the encounter, with notable dignitaries that includes Niger State Football Association Chairman, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, his Kaduna state counterpart, Shariff Al-kasim, as well as the Chairman of Niger Tornadoes Fc, Hon. Adamu Aliyu and other state FA board members.
