By Sab Osuji
Coach Chukwuma Agbo of Delta Force is on the brink of sack following the dismal performance of the club at the ongoing Nigeria National League, NNL Super Eight (8) playoff in Aba, Abia State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Already, search for his successor has commenced moments after they crashed out of the playoff on Monday following a 2-0 defeat by Shooting Stars in their match day two (2) clash.
It was gathered that some coaches names are already being touted as his possible replacement.
Prominent amongst them are a former Nigeria U17 and U20 National teams handler and a former U23 Olympic Eagles assistant coach who recently won the NPFL title for a Northern club.
Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Tony Okowa, was embittered the club failed to match the state government's NPFL target.
"The club was poor in performance. They conceded five goals in two game without scoring any.
"Worse is that they lacked tactics and a complete departure from their preseason performance where they did not lose any game.
"It's very disgusting, I must say and you can't blame the government who have invested so much in the club", an official of the state said.
However, coach cast a forlorn when asked about his team's poor showing at the tournament.
"The club was in bad position when I came. I did my best to take this far. As far as I'm concerned I've delivered on my mandate to rescue them", Agbo who joined from Enugu Rangers said.
