United were surprise package of the play-off as no one gave them the chance to make it there and going by the way they started their NNL campaign, it was easy to right then off, but against all odds they made it. But not too good a start for them as they stumbled and crumbled before South West rival, Remo Stars 3-0. The young and enterprising Ekiti United found themselves behind 1-0 going into the break. They resumed the second half flaunting their attacking prowess leaving their defence at the mercy of Remo Stars who capitalised on their deficiencies to score two more goals. It was a great entertaining game from both sides but it was the Stars from Remo who smiled at the end of the day. It finished Ekiti United 0-3 Remo Stars at the Cathedral.
