NNL Super 8 Playoff: Gombe United, Niger Tornadoes Return To Elite Division Sampson Adedeji After years of absence, Nigeria National League clubs, Gombe United and Niger Tornadoes returned to the Nigeria Professional football league (NPFL), BSNsports.com.ng can report. Both teams put up an amazing performance in the regular season to come top in their respective group and they transit the same form to the Playoff. Since the start of the playoff at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu, both teams have exhibited character which helped them at the end of the group game. After recording 4 points each in the first two matches, Niger Tornadoes and Gombe United faced each other at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC) in the final group game and it ended in a goalless draw. Both teams qualified with five points each Rivals, El Kanemi Warriors defeated DMD 3-0 on the other group game but it counted for nothing as the draw handed the promotion tickets to Gombe United and Niger Tornadoes who had five points each. El-Kanemi Warriors ended the tournament with four points.
