NNL WK 9: Ekiti United Beat Go Another Home Go Round For Another Home Win

NNL
In the week 9 of the Nigeria National League, Ekiti United defeated Go Round FC 1-0 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday. It was the first home match for Ekiti United after their auto crash as the team played with much caution while the visiting team showed they meant real business from the start of the game. Kehinde Olajuyin led the attacking line up for the host team but all his efforts and Azeez Onikoko were checked by the defence line of Go Round FC. The quartet of Julius Adeyanju, Onyeka Nwaiwu, Anthony Silva and Dayo Owoniyi had their hands full at the backline for Ekiti United as they kept the visitors at bay through the duration of the match while Saheed Lasisi and Azeez Falolu gave good account of themselves at the midfield. Both sides created few scoring chances but Ekiti United were the hungrier side though with some anxiety written all over them while searching for goals. As a result of pressure mounted in the visitors half, a player from Ekiti United was apprehended in the 18 yard box thereby resulting into penalty which Kehinde Olajuyin calmly converted to give Ekiti the solitary goal in the encounter. In search for more goals in the second half , coach Ayodeji Ayeni brought in the Ekiti United headmaster, Kamoru Adebari and pocket-size Pius Chikodi who both tried but their efforts were not enough to fetch more goals as the game ended 1 goal to nothing in favor of Ekiti United.
