No Fixed Dates For National Sports Festival, Youth Games - Sunday Dare

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has said that the return of sporting activities in Nigeria will be determined by the Covid19 Presidential Task Force, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The resumption of sports according to him will begin when the cases of Covid 19 patients start reducing. In two separate tweets on his verified Twitter handle, Sunday Dare added that the dates for the 2020 National Sports Festival and National Youth Games have not been fixed.

The tweets read, "The Ministry intends to have necessary COVID-19 infrastructure in place at major government sporting venues. The awareness campaign on COVID-19 prevention will be accentuated to reach sportsmen and women. The NSF, the NYT and similar major tournaments for now have no fixed date.

In another tweet, he writes, "The return of sporting activities will be determined by Nigeria’s COVID-19 status viz a drop in infection rate & flattening curve. Sadly, there is still some journey ahead. The PTF will give the signal. On our part, we are being proactive by putting in place necessary protocols.
