No price money for winners of NPFL Laliga U-15 Promises Tournament ~ Dikko By Admin The second Vice President of the Nigerian Football Federation and Chairman of the League Management Company, Mallam Shehu Dikko has stated that there will not be price money or any other cash rewards for winners of the just concluded NPFL Laliga under 15 Promises Tournament. He made this known in a media parley with journalists during a press conference recently, while answering questions on the impact of the pact between the NPFL and the Spanish outfit, Laliga. "The winners of this competition will not be going home with price money, or any form of cash rewards; it exposes them at this level, to some hazards and deprives them of focus in their career." He further stated that honour and recognition is the best way to reward youths of this category, as it would spur them to further pursue their career with great focus and diligence. "When you give them honour and recognition, they are highly motivated and focused, and the hunger for more glory would naturally set in." It would be recalled that Government at various levels in the past have given cash rewards and landed property to under aged who made them proud, by winning championships, a move which the astute football Administrator frowns at, submitting that investment in bonds and scholarship would have been great at this level of their career. "Making investments through bonds and scholarship would greatly benefit them later in life, than giving cash rewards for winning championships." The final of the 2019 edition of the NPFL Laliga under 15 Promises Tournament comes up on Sunday 28th April, between Kwara United FC and Katsina United FC. It will however be preceded by a third place playoff between Delta Force FC and Sunshine Stars FC.
