Nobody Contacted Me For Ghana Job - Rohr
By Our Reporter
Former Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr has emphasised that he has not been contacted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
The Black Stars after a shambolic display at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament are without a head coach after a decision by the GFA to sack coach Milovan Rajevac.
Amid the search for a new man to take charge of the team, there has been talk that ex-Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has been contacted.
Speaking in an interview, however, the German tactician says those speculations are untrue.
“I don’t have any agent and nobody is intensifying my candidature (to coach Ghana). Of course, some countries contacted me; and not me (contacting them) but the countries,” Gernot Rohr told NationSports while adding. “It would be difficult for me to fight against my former team.”
Meanwhile, information gathered indicates that Otto Addo and Chris Hughton are the frontrunners for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
