None of Our Players Test Positive To COVID-19, Say Wikki Tourists

After reports circulated last week about Wikki Tourist players contracting Coronavirus, the news as expected cast further doubts on the restart project of football in Nigeria.

However, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi have since come out to deny the reports stating that the reports were faulty and misleading. Speaking in Bauchi at the weekend, Wikki Tourists’ Secretary, Mr. Abdullahi Ibrahim said, “We have tested all our players, none of them was positive for the virus. There were 66 people who were tested among the management and the players in line with the instructions from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). From the results that came out, none of them was positive.”

He added that a driver and one club member came out positive and have been isolated and receiving treatment."

He also said that all 46 players are fit and ready to resume when the league starts.
