NPFL - Enyimba Chairman Denies Attack On MFM FC
By Our Reporter
Enyimba Football Club chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi, has asked Mountain of Fire and Miracles, MFM Football Club to produce evidence that they were attacked in Aba at the weekend during the NPFL duel.
MFM had earlier raised alarm after returning from the encounter in which they lost 2-1 that they were harassed and molested by the officials of Enyimba in Aba.
Reacting to the allegation, Anyansi rebuffed the story, saying it was a blatant lie that nobody touched MFM players and officials.
The NFF board member said he had no time to join issues with the MFM officials on this matter but he will tell Nigerians about what really happened in Aba during the match.
He said, “Enyimba had just won the match 2-1, it was actually 3-1 and one of our goals was disallowed by the referee. The players were still on the pitch when a fan walked up to one MFM player to console him after the match. Instead, the player turned the issue to another thing as he spate on the fan’s face and immediately fell on the ground, acted as if he was attacked.
He continued, “The whole stadium was rowdy before everything later returned to normalcy. No player or official was beaten as alleged. It was just a case of misunderstanding between the two teams.
"If MFM had the video of the attack they should take it to the appropriate quarters. We did not attack them,” Anyansi told sportinglife.ng.
