Sampson Adedeji
As the preparations for the 2021/2022 season of the NPFL reached top gear, newly appointed head coach of the Rangers international Abdu Maikaba has said they are ready for the campaign, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Maikaba joined the Flying Antelopes this summer after his contract expired at Plateau United.
Rangers missed the continental ticket last season despite mounting a serious challenge towards the end of the season.
While speaking to the club media on Friday, Maikaba said the boys are ready to give their all either at home or away in the coming season.
“We are pushing the boys with regards to playing some of our home games away from Enugu and with the positive results we are getting from the players, I believe we can win anywhere.
"It is important for us now to put this in the minds of our players. We are already making them to be aware that it is not going to be easy so that we have good mental and good character towards any game which I believe will give us victory in any game.
“I can say that we are very, very ready for the start of the new season. The players are responding to training positively.
"We want to start well which I believe will help us consolidate on achieving our set target for the season.
"Looking at our game in Katsina, the only obstacle will be the distance and the harsh weather condition but I believe that we have what it takes to overcome these and start our season on a perfect note with a good result in Katsina," he told Rangers media.
