NPFL 2019: LMC, clubs agrees Six-team play off

Ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season, the League Management Company and 24 teams that will play in the league has agreed to play off at the end of the regular season.

The agreement was reached yesterday in Abuja at the emergency meeting held to usher in new season.

Based on the communiqué released at the end of the meeting, three top team in each group of the league will proceed to play off.

The winner of the play off will be declared winner of the league while second and third teams will represent Nigeria in the CAF clubs competitions.

Nigeria league will commence on Sunday in an abridged format after much delay due to misunderstanding that erupted between the LMC and organiser of the second tier league NNL.
