NPFL: Akarandut fires Akwa United to victory in Kano

Actions resumed in the match day 12 of Nigeria professional football league on Saturday and it was Akwa United that secured an away win against hosts, Jigawa Golden Stars in Kano, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Promise Keeper seems to have picked their form since the appointment of Kennedy Boboye who replaced John Obuh as the team head coach.

It was in-form striker Orok Akarandut that netted the winning goal on the stroke of half-time and all efforts of the host to level the game proved abortive.

Akarandut has now scored in 4th consecutive games for the Uyo based side who is yet to lose a game in the last 4 matches.

The victory ensured that Akwa United who started the day in 9th position moved up to second on the log.

The remaining eight matches will continue on Sunday with eyes on the match involving leader Plateau United who host champions Enyimba, Heartland will also tackle Rangers in Okigwe.
