The Promise Keepers have disclosed that they are going to reveal the identity of their new coach on Monday in Uyo.
Chairman of Akwa United, Paul Bassey has informed that the club will unveil a new coach on Monday.
The Promise Keepers came second in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League season and were quarter-finalists in the Federation Cup where they lost to eventual champions, Enugu Rangers on penalties.
Bassey failed to confirm the identity of the new coach but it is reported that Akwa United are shopping for a foreign manager to keep in tandem with the philosophy of their former coach and also to ensure that the Promise Keepers fine form of recent seasons is not hindered.
He said Akwa United’s rebirth in the last two seasons where they came fourth and second respectively and also won the Federation Cup title last year must be sustained.
“What I know is that we are going to unveil our new coach on Monday. We have tried as much as possible to do a thorough job in our search for a new coach,” Bassey told Goal.
“We have a standard and it is that same standard that has guided us in our choice of a new coach that will continue from where our former coach stopped. We have been very discreet in our search and I believe that we have come forth with a coach that we feel will take our club to the next level."
