NPFL: Amunike Eyes Return With Kano Pillars Sampson Adedeji Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Amunike is set to return to the local scene as he was among the final list of six listed for the position of head coach in the Nigeria Professional Football League club Kano Pillars, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The former Golden Eaglets gaffer last handled team on the Nigeria when he coached Julius Berger of Lagos and Ocean Boys. Kano Pillars announced vacancy in the position of its coach after last season head coach Ibrahim Musa was promoted to the position of technical adviser. Over 20 coaches applied for the job but six coaches including Emmanuel Amunike, Salisu Yusuf, Usman Abdallah, Erol Kay, Hakeem Busari, and Henry Makinwa. The former Barcelona winger announced his arrival in the continent of Africa when he qualified Tanzania for its first African Cup of Nations in 2019 after 39 years. Since leaving Nigeria, Amunike has worked with clubs in Sudan and Egypt. Amunike among other shortlisted candidates are expected to appear before a set panel on Wednesday 1st of September, 2021.
