NPFL: Collective Efforts, Not Deutcsh Magic Gave Us Victory, Says Abia Warriors Coach

NPFL:
COLLECTIVE EFFORT, NOT DEUTCSH MAGIC GAVE US VICTORY SAYS ABIA WARRIORS COACH By Admin Despite leading Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia to their most outstanding victory of the season, Head Coach Emmanuel Deutcsh has refused to take the credit alone insisting that the 3-0 victory over Oriental brothers, FC Ifeanyi Ubah came as a result of collective effort by all the stakeholders. Speaking to newsmen at the Umuahia Township Stadium shortly after the centre referee blew off the highly entertaining game, Deutcsh, who thanked God for His grace, also commended the players for responding positively to his instructions as well as other stakeholders for their efforts. Newsmen had sought to know the magic that made his side so clinical in front of goal after struggling all season to score at the Umuahia Township Stadium and the Camerounian, who led Abia Warriors last season before a short stint with newly promoted Delta Force of Asaba, said he has been trying to bring back the winning mentality to the team while the boys were responding positively. "They're my boys and I know them very well. I also coached Ifeanyi Ubah in the past so I also know them. But in all, God was on our side and He rewarded us with this victory", he said. Deutcsh described FC Ifeanyi Ubah as a very good side which has been outstanding all season, pointing out that defeating them so comprehensively will simply boost the moral of his boys to apply same seriousness in their remaining games in order to reposition the club. Abia Warriors new acquisition, Atilola Tunde nodded the home team ahead in the 27th minute following Shedrack Asiegbu's exquisite cross while Ibrahim Olawoyin and Asiegbu himself made the game safe with their well taken goals. The visitors missed a chance to reduce the deficit when Ezeh Chibuikem failed to convert a spot kick awarded his side in the 88th minute.
