Cyril Olisema's Goal Pushes Akwa United Top of Group B

Akwa United midfield sensation Cyril Olisema's 64th minute penalty against Heartland sends the Promise Keepers to top of Group B Table of the Nigerian Professional Football League.
Cyril Olisema who started from the bench brought his experience to bare after he was introduce in the 58th minute as a replacement for NPFL top scorer Mfon Udoh who picked a knock in the game, his first touch of the match was a through ball to Aniefiok Godspower who was brought down by Goalkeeper Umeh to give the hom side a penalty.
Olisema who captained the team in the second half calmly send the goalkeeper the wrong way to score his first goal of the season and give the Promise Keepers a vital win that ensured they go top with 22 points from 12 matches.
Speaking after the slim victory, the Delta born player spoke of his eagerness to come on to the field of play as he fancied the role he played compared to his previous positions.
"I really want to thank God for the win, and also the opportunity to score my first goal of the season, I know it will boost my confidence going forward.
"The role I played is different from the previous matches, as the tactics allowed me move forward, I really want to thank God."
Speaking of his role being threatened, with the arrival of new midfielders, the Aiteo Cup winner said he doesn't think so as everyone is different.
"I don't think any player can give me pressure on my own position, everyone has its uniqueness, I know what I have so I'm not scared."
Akwa United are now on a unbeaten run of eight matches in the NPFL.
