NPFL Day 20 Round Up: Rangers, Akwa Utd Book Super 6 Playoff, Remo, Yobe Relegated

Remo Stars and Yobe Desert Stars have been confirmed to play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season as they were able to secure 19 and 15 points respectively after 20 matches. On the other hand, Akwa United and Rangers international have qualified for the Super 6 playoff as the 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League remain just two matches to the end of the league.

Rivers United on Thursday in Port Harcourt held Lobi to a 0-0 barren draw to further delay their ticket to the Super 6 playoff. In group B, Akwa United book their Super 6 ticket despite losing 2-1 to Delta Force in Asaba, Kano Pillars picked maximum 3 points on the road after beating relegated Yobe Desert Stars in Damaturu. Abia Warriors scored a late penalty against El Kanemi Warriors to move away from relegation zone, while Plateau United and Go Round play a draw in Omoku as both teams are yet to escape relegation with two matches to go.
Heartland bounced back to winning ways as they picked all the 3 maximum points away in Nnewi against FC Ifeanyi Ubah. In Lafia, Nasarawa United brighten their chances of getting a Super 6 ticket with a 2-1 win over Gombe United.
